Coral Bay

 

Coral Bay 8 miles north of Paphos and less than half an hours drive from the airport may be a fair distance fron Agia Napa Cyprus but it is the perfect location for a relaxing Cyprus beach holiday.

The Coral Bay resort is well placed for visits and excursions into historic Paphos with all its archaeological sites close to a pretty medieval harbor.

Coral Bay Beach is without a doubt one of the finest beaches in the area and is rated the best in western Cyprus. The calm shallow waters are ideal for children and just a few kilometers away is Cape Lara a turtle nesting site.

You can try a spot of diving with a qualified instructor at Maninii Island near the Akamas Peninsula where the wreck of the Zenobia lies. There are water sports too with water skiing and windsurfing available locally.

If you want to get out of Coral Bay and see some of rural Cyprus take a visit to the hillside village of Pevia where you can take in some beautiful views.

Venturing further a field there are plenty of excursions available to the divided city of Nicosia split since the Turkish occupation of 1974 with its old walled quarter and unspoilt town centre it is a fascinating day out.
