Larnaca is not just a great holiday resort it is also a town in it's own right. There is a great shopping area and a thriving business community there.

There is a large marina located at one end of the main promenade and a medieval fort at the other. The sandy beach is situated one side of the road with a host of pavement cafes and bars lining the street opposite.

With something for everyone including a K.F.C. and a Pizza Hut even the kids will be kept happy too.

Further back from the promenade there are some quaint streets to explore with small taverns and buildings dating back hundreds of years.

Don?t miss the beautiful church, which you are free to visit so long as the gentleman wear long trousers and the women cover their shoulders. The shops are worth a look too with plenty of variety and the people are really friendly. There is a huge market just outside of Larnaca town every Sunday where you can buy just about anything (within reason), which is well worth a visit if you get the chance. Don?t be afraid to barter because it?s expected and who knows you may pick up a real bargain to remind you of your great Cyprus holiday.
