Limassol

One of the first Mediterranean holiday resorts to be developed was Limassol with its miles of golden sand and luxury hotels.

The main strip stretches for miles running parallel to the beach with old Limassol town at one end and a modern marina at the other.

The perfect place for a great Cyprus family holiday whether you prefer self-catering or the pampering of a luxury hotel. There is more than enough to please anyone in Limassol whatever you are looking for in a holiday.

Old Limassol is home to Cyprus’s main port, which was hurriedly built following the Turkish occupation of Northern Cyprus in 1974. Before that time Famagusta was the main port on the island.

From the port you can take a mini cruise to places such as Egypt or the Holy land amongst others. Trips and excursions are book able from the many small travel agency shops dotted along the main strip and are reasonably priced.

This end of limassol is the best place for shopping and there are plenty of café bars to relax in when your feet start to ache. There are all the usual brand names and no shopping trip would be complete without a trip to the large Woolworth’s department store.

Water sports are available at several locations along the beautiful golden beaches and there are two large water parks nearby which make a fun filled day out for kids and adults alike.

In the evening the main strip comes to life in a blaze of neon with hundreds of café bars and restaurants it’s a nice to walk up an appetite whilst browsing the shops. You can enjoy a relaxed family meal or party till dawn in one of the many nightclubs.

Limassol makes a great on resort holiday due to its size with everything you could want close at hand its now wonder that families’ return here year after year.
