Paphos Area

The nearest town to Paphos airport is Paphos town itself which is actually two distinct areas. Paphos and Kato paphos the old and new parts of town. The resort area has a quaint harbor lined with bars and restaurants as well as a castle overlooking the harbor. Paphos is in one of the most historically rich areas of Cyprus with lots of places to visit including the tombs of the kings and the pillar of St Paul. The resort is also open all year round with plenty to see and do. A little less well known is the beautiful village and resort of Pissouri. But don't miss this Cyprus gem because Pissouri has so much to offer. If you want a real taste of Cyprus combined with great holiday accommodation then Pissouri is the ideal place to find just that.

A few kilometers from Paphos is the resort area of Coral Bay with it's beautiful sandy beaches, bars and restaurants it is a great place for a family holiday. Coral Bay boast some of the best hotels in Cyprus and is a modern vibrant resort with something for everyone.

Also on the east side of the coast is Limasol a large cosmopolitan resort with a huge strip that is miles long and fronts onto a great beach. There is an old town and harbor at one end of the strip with a modern marina at the other. Limasol was one of the first  Mediterranean resorts to be developed and has continued to grow to this day providing a host of facilities for demanding holiday makers from all over the world.

If you want to savor somewhere more relaxed then Polis may be just the place you are looking for with it's pretty little fishing harbor and traditional taverns. Polis has plenty of bars, restaurants and shops as well all the other amenities you would expect in a small town.

Pissouri is another quite little town with a beach resort, several tavernas and a sunny town square set on a hill above the harbor. Situated only a few kilometers away is the mythical birth place of Aphrodite the Greek Goddess of love. It is said that if a person swims around the rock of Aphrodite during a full moon every circuit round will make them years younger.  

Nicosia is the capital city of Cyprus and is the last divided city in the world. Since the Turkish occupation of Northern Cyprus in 1974 the town has been separated by a buffer zone which is policed by troops of the United Nations. It is a vibrant cosmopolitan city with a wide range of shops and an historic walled area. Well worth the trip which combines a great fact finding excursion with a days shopping.
