Polis

 

The word Polis in Greek actually means town and Polis is a beautiful Cyprus town situated in the paphos area. Close by is the site where the Greek goddess of love and beauty Aphrodite is said to have met with her lover Adonis.

The area has a rich history, which dates, back over 3000 years and there are archaeological digs going on in polis town center even now. So if its history the floats your boat you can even go and see the work in progress.
