Protaras situated about 50 minutes drive from Larnaca airport is the ideal resort for a great Cyprus family holiday.

The beautiful beaches are the perfect place to top up your tan or go swimming in the warm Mediterranean waters. There are water sports a plenty and lots of places to relax with a bite to eat.

 

Protaras offers accommodation to suit all taste and budgets with self-catering apartments luxury hotels that front right onto the beach and plenty of private villas with their own pools.

 

If you should get tired of relaxing there is plenty to see nearby is the church of Profitis Elias built on a granite hill overlooking Protaras.

There are about 100 steps to the top but it only takes about 15 minutes to get there and when you do the spectacular views are well worth the climb.

 

Just a few kilometers down the road is the Cape Greco nature reserve an area of outstanding natural beauty. Be sure to visit the tiny church and the cave below it where the early Christians used to meet in secret.

 

With boat trips to the ghost town of Famagusta, fishing excursions and catamaran cruises the only problem you will have is finding the time to fit it all in. But hey! You will love Cyprus so much you can come back next summer to do whatever you missed out on this time around.
